Experienced Toxicopathologist

For site in Ejby, Lille Skensved, Denmark.

Scantox is growing and we are looking for an experienced toxicopathologist for our team. In this role you will work closely with other pathologists, external peer reviewing pathologists and will play a crucial role in the pathology evaluation of our studies.

This role is based in Denmark, but we offer full flexibility in terms of working from home, although it is expected that on-site presence is once per week (on average) to allow for collection of slides, and ad hoc tasks requiring physical presence. 

Today the team consists of 4 pathologists, one trainee pathologist and one pathology assistant, with experience ranging from 11-25 years. Two of our pathologists hold a PhD, one holds an FRCPath (Board Certification) and is a FIATP, and one is a DipRCPath and a FIATP.

Work tasks:

Your primary work task will be to act as study pathologist, evaluating and interpreting histopathology findings.

The tasks include:

• Evaluation and interpretation of histological specimens (primarily H&E stained slides) and reporting of microscopic findings, including decision about potential test item related changes.
• Prepare histopathological reports of a high scientific standard, including preparation of tables from our LIMS system Provantis.
• Support our journey to develop our capabilities within digital pathology
• Collaborate with Study Directors, histology technicians and external peer reviewing pathologists
• Work in close collaboration with the histology laboratory and provide technical and scientific guidance in relation to macroscopic findings, collection of tissues and fixation.
• Contribute to the continuous education and training of junior pathologists
• Support our BD with scientific knowledge in relation to new client proposals.

About you:

The ideal candidate has 

• more than 5 years of experience within toxicopathology, either from CRO or pharmaceutical industry.
• experience with different species (primarily minipig, dog, rat, mouse)
• experience in working with regulatory standards (GLP)
• experience with Patholytix and a strong interest in digital pathology.
• excellent communication skills in English, written and orally
• collaborative skills as the job have a large interface with many colleagues in the company.
• a structured mindset and an eye for details and a positive attitude towards change
• The ability to thrive in a team working independently in co-ordination, and your can-do attitude helps to maintain the atmosphere and the working environment in the team.
